Description

These unusual geological features in California Desert Conservation Area were designated as a National Natural Landmark to preserve its landscape. More than 500 tufa spires comprise this feature with different sizes and height. They formed from the bottom of Searles Dry Lake basin. Tourists visit this site to take photos. It has actually appeared in a lot of commercials and films. Camping is allowed here for a maximum of 14-day stay. But do know that it is undeveloped and has no facilities except for a vault toilet. Do not leave any trace and take all your trash with you.
