You need to make a reservation. It is no longer 1st come 1st serve. Can be a bit noisy. Near railroad tracks and highway. I have heard more than one story of people having stuff stolen. I suggest not leaving anything unattended out side your vehicle. No tents are allowed. For $6more you can stay at Hobson's. Which you pass on the way to this site

Beautiful place to be. You have to reserve https://www.venturaparks.org/payment/index.asp or ask the ranger. It's dry camping directly at the beach in the street.
