Description

As America's first motor-camping area, Chief Hosa Campground opened in 1918 and sits at an altitude of 7,700 feet. The campground spans 58 acres within the 2,400 acres of the City of Denvers Genesee Mountain Park - home to a city-owned bison herd and provides a unique opportunity to view these animals in a natural habitat. In the same area, campers can also check out the historic Chief Hosa Lodge, built in 1918 and available for event rentals. The lodge provides beautiful mountain views of the Continental Divide to the west; Pikes Peak to the south; Longs Peak to the north; and plains to the east.
