Description
While located within Curecanti National Recreation Area, East Portal campground can only be accessed from Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. It is tucked at the bottom of the canyon shaded by box elder trees.
It has 15 sites, with 10 that are tent-only sites. Picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets, potable water, trash bins, and food lockers are provided in the camp. It is usually open from May to October as weather permits. Each site can accommodate 8 people and 2 vehicles. Dogs are allowed but must be on leash.
Camping fee is $16 a night.
