Description
South Mineral Campground is one of the most popular campgrounds in the San Juan National Forest, offering 26 sites, all of which are first-come, first-serve. Most campsites are shaded and well-spaced because of the abundance of spruce and fir trees. Some sites are also handicapped-accessible or have large parking areas.
The campground also offers drinking water, trash pickup, fire grates, picnic tables, and pit toilets.

Fairly expensive, lots of free camping along the gravel road before you get here! Ice lakes trail starts right next to the campsite. Parking area at the trailhead apparently fills up fast, but we had no issues since we started early morning.
