Description
Open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm, the Canyons of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum is a museum focusing on Ancestral Puebloan, Native American, and historic cultures in the Four Corners region. The premier archaeological museum is operated by the Bureau of Land Management, and also the headquarters for visitors traveling to Canyons of the Ancients National Monument.
All museum facilities are wheelchair-accessible, which include permanent exhibits on archaeology and local history, two 12th-century archaeological sites, a picnic area and a half-mile nature trail, and a research library of archaeology and anthropology resources.
