Description

The Big Cypress Oasis Visitor Center was built in the 1960s, and was once a private airport with a hangar and restaurant. It was then purchased by the National Park Service in the 1980s to be used as a visitor center. Today, it features exhibits related to the natural and cultural history of the preserve, educational materials, sales items, and an introductory film.

The boardwalk out the front of the visitor center is an awesome place to see alligators and fish worth a stop.
