Description
The Haile family had 56 enslaved people when they moved to Alachua County in 1854. They completed the homestead in 1856 and still stands today after over 150 years.
It is famous for the 'Talking Walls' where the Haile family and friends wrote over 12,500 words on the walls, rooms, and closets of their home.
The homestead is open from 10am to 2pm on Saturdays and 12pm to 4pm on Sundays. Tours cost $10 per person.
