Description
The Lanier Mansion State Historic Site was built by wealthy banker James F. D. Lanier in 1844, and was declared a State Memorial in 1926, and remains an important landmark in Madison to the present day. It is considered to be the 'Crown Jewel' of Madison's Historic District and is an outstanding example of Greek Revival Architecture.
