Description
Backbone State Park is Iowa's first state park. It features the highest point in the state, The Devil's Backbone, which is formed by the steep and narrow ridge from Maquoketa River.
Campers can access the 21-mile trail system, climb rocks, fish or boat on the lake. There are electric and non-electric campsites in the park along with 4 cabins. It has a playground, dump station, and showers.
