Thomas Mitchell Park has many recreation opportunities with over 175 acres to explore, and sustains an oak-hickory woodland filled with mushrooms, wildflowers, and wildlife that attracts campers, picnickers, and hikers.

First-come, first-served campers should set up camp on their site before registering. Campground showerhouses are open mid-April through mid-October. Camping rates are $20 for electric sites and $15 for non-electric. Campgrounds are closed from December 1 - March 31 (except to walk-in tent camping, which is allowed year round
