Description
Opened in 1987, Botanica, The Wichita Gardens encompasses 17.6 acres of botanical gardens and is part of the Wichita Park System. The gardens features an aquatic collection; a butterfly garden with a 2,880-square-foot butterfly house providing pansy exhibits during the winter; a greenhouse for tropical plants; a juniper collection with over 30 types of junipers; a peony collection of 104 cultivars; a rock garden with sedum and sempervivum; a rose garden with over 350 rose plants; a sensory garden; and a Shakespearean garden.
