Description

In 1727, nuns from the Ursuline Convent of Rouen went to New Orleans and found a convent, ran a hospital, and took care of educating young girls. Now, visitors can check out the Old Ursuline Convent Museum - the oldest building in the Mississippi River Valley and the oldest surviving example of the French colonial period in the United States.
