Description

The state park features a stone fort which was Maryland's frontier defense during French and Indian wars. Today, it has historic exhibits, museum, and visitor center. Fort Frederick borders Potomac River. Chesapeake and Ohio canals also flow through the park. Visitors can enjoy fishing, boating, and hiking. A total of 29 campsites with tables, fire rings, lantern posts, and camping pads are available in the park. There are toilets but no potable water. Camping fee is $15 a night.
