Description
Pipestone National Monument is the home of the historic Pipestone quarries, beautiful tallgrass prairie, and the majestic Winnewissa waterfall. It features a visitor center, a museum, an orientation film, exhibits, a gift shop, pipestone carving demonstrations by American Indians, a ¾ mile walking trail along Pipestone Creek, Winnewissa Falls, and the tall grass prairie.
Pets must be kept on a six-foot leash and under physical control at all times while visiting any area of the park. Pets are not permitted in the visitor center.

Visitor center open 8.30-5. Information brochure near door if closed when you arrive. 3/4mile walking trail. Nice waterfall and some interesting rock shapes. Information signs everywhere.
