Description
The Elizabeth L. Evans Waterfowl and Bird Sanctuary is a 66-acre wetland area for bird and wildlife species, and serves as a living, learning laboratory for students. It has a variety of wetland vegetation that includes American sycamore, silver maple, cottonwood, arrowhead, buttonbush, and bullrushes.
It is home to Canada geese, mallard ducks, great blue herons, and egrets. Wetland mammals abound, including beavers, minks, muskrats, and white-tailed deer.
