The barren landscape of nearby Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge is salt from an ocean which used to cover Oklahoma in prehistoric times. The saltwater lake in the park is also half as salty as the ocean. Visitors can go swimming, fishing, and boating in the lake, or explore trails through hiking, biking, and horseback riding.
Campsites with electric and water hookups are available in the park. It has grills, picnic areas, meeting space, playground, restrooms and showers.
Daily rate is $16 to $30.
