Description
Viento State Park offers a day-use area with easy access to the Columbia River, providing for thrilling windsurfing and fishing. There are also well-shaded campsites on both sides of 1-84, making 56 electrical sites with water and 18 tent sites with water. The campground also has flush toilets and hot showers.
The park is also the trailhead for a universally accessible 5.6-mile section of the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail.

The best hiker/biker campground in the gorge! The hiker/biker site is to the south so the trains aren't much of an issue nor is RV noise. Like all hiker/bikers you are guaranteed a spot and it's $5 to stay.

Horribly noisy! Convenient location, but I would never choose this spot again, especially for tent camping.
