Description
Nestled within Cape Meares State Scenic Viewpoint, Cape Meares Lighthouse is the shortest in Oregon. Standing only 38-foot tall, this inactive light was built in 1889. It was named after Captain John Meares who was the first to sail into Tillamook Bay.
A 0.2-mile paved path from the parking lot leads to the lighthouse. Visitors can tour the tower for free from May to September, 11am to 4pm.
