Description
The South Carolina Aquarium is home to over 10,000 plant and animal species, such as North American river otters, loggerhead sea turtles, alligators, great blue herons, owls, lined seahorses, jellyfish, pufferfish, green moray eels, horseshoe crabs, sea stars, pythons, and sharks.
Visitors can see the largest exhibit in the zoo, the Great Ocean Tank, which extends from the first to the third floor, and is the deepest tank in North America at 42 feet and more than 385,000 US gallons of water. This exhibit also houses over 700 animals.
