Description
Campers at Lake Thompson can enjoy several outdoor recreation. They can try boating, canoeing, fishing, and swimming. If water fun is not their thing, they can always opt to hike, bike, or ride a horse.
There are 103 campsites in the park along with 5 cabins and a group lodge. There are playgrounds, dump station, toilets, and showers.

I always enjoy tent camping at this South Dakota state park. The fishing is pretty decent also. Just stay away from the place on the weekends during peak seasons unless you like shoulder to shoulder camping.
