This museum used to be the Burkle Estate where runaway slaves had a refuge. Its owner, Jacob Burkle, opened his home to help slaves escape to freedom.
Today, it features ads, auctions, and artifacts telling about the story of slavery. Its main feature is the secret cellar trap doors where the slaves hid.
