Description

Ol' Rip was a horned lizard from 1897 and was placed in a cornerstone to test the belief that these types of lizards can survive 100 years in hibernation. After 31 years, the cornerstone was opened and there he is, still alive. But after 11 months of becoming a celebrity, Old Rip died. His remains are on display in the Eastland County Courthouse.
