Description

Fruita campground is the only developed campground in Capitol Reef National Park. It is located next to Fremont River and near historic sites like Fruita Schoolhouse and Gifford Homestead. It features 71 sites, all with picnic tables and fire pits. There are no hookups, but a dump station and water fill station are located near the entrance of the camp. Restrooms with running water and flush toilets are available. This campground is open all year. From March to October, reservations are required due to increased visitation. From November to February, sites are on a first come, first served basis. If it happens that the campground is full on your visit, there are a lot of public lands surrounding the park which allow dispersed camping. Camping fee is $20 a night.
