Description
With an elevation of 7,840 feet, expect a cold weather and prepare for it. It is a remote campground without any telephone or emergency service. Lots of wildlife can be spotted here but remember to admire them from a distance and do not go near them or feed them. Better to bring insect repellent and allergy medications, too, as there are lots of stinging plants and insects in the area.
Gooseberry campground has 13 single sites and 1 group site, all on a first come, first served basis. They are equipped with tables and fire rings. The camp has water, vault toilets, and historic gazebo.
Camping fee is $14 for single site and $28 for group site.
