Description
It travels across a high alpine elevation with beautiful views of Wildcat Canyon, then drops to Potato Hollow. As you climb, the trail splits into Telephone Canyon and West Rim. The West Rim trail follows along the rim with stunning views of Phantom Valley and canyons to the south.

Vehicles longer than 19 feet are not allowed on Lava Point Rd. Unpaved roads impassable when wet. This trail is 14.4 miles (23.2km) one way and takes 6 to 9 hours. Camping is restricted to 9 designated sites and permits must be obtained from the Zion visitors center.
