We started to drive to the campground but found a roadside spot with a fire ring about 5 miles in. So decided not to go all the way in. The sign said forestry pass required but no one was anywhere to be seen. Beautiful area. Leave no trace.

Actually I'm nit sure it's really free, starting from Peter's Creek trail there is a sing 'entering fee area', sl it seems at least some payment is required to access the site.Nevertheless in mid April gate was closed, I just parked my car and walked in. Bit really sure why is it ' one of the best campsites' - just a good one, with tables and fire

Super nice Campground. It is more a kind of walk in Campground but you can park your car almost in front of fire pit and table. Approximately 12 Sites. Very quiet and you can hear the river. Be careful we had a mouse in our Dodge Caravan. I couldn't sleep at all because the mouse ripped the whole night the toilet paper.
