Description

Open from May to October, the Carter Falls Trailhead is located across the road from Cougar Rock Campground and gives access down to the Nisqually River. See the 50-foot horsetail-shaped waterfall, named in honor of Harry Carter, who built most of the trail between Paradise and Longmire.

1.1 miles one way to the falls on a rocky path by the river. Very impressive. Some of the falls were ice covered and the top was cloud covered on the day we visited.
