Swimming and soaking opportunities are very limited at Yellowstone National Park. Boiling River is one of the few which allows soaking, though it is still risky because of the organisms in the water which may cause illness. Also note that there are no lifeguards present in this site. To minimize the risk, it is best not to swallow river water and avoid submerging your head.
During summer, it is open from 6am to 8pm, and 7am to 6pm on Fall, Spring, and Winter. Visitors are required to wear bathing suits when soaking. Food, drink and alcohol are prohibited as well as use of soap, shampoo, and conditioner.
