Sat near the Belle Fourche River, this prairie dog town spans 40 acres and 600 residents call this their home. The prairie dogs are keystone species to the park's ecosystem, and visitors can view them from their cars or on foot.

There are a few pull outs you can use to view the fields on either side if to road of the Prairie dogs borrows. Late afternoon there were plenty of them running around eating on the grass.
